Position Title : Material Handler

Reports To : Warehouse Lead

Position Location : Eagle Rock VA.

Main position objectives

The Material Handler will identify tag and organize all items for each customer order for assembly. Coordinate with Assembly manufacturing schedule to effectivly deliver in a timly manner. To insure delivery on time or ahead of schedule.

Position description Tasks responsibilities competencies

(List 8-10 specific tasks start each description indicating an action e.g. leads advises develops etc.)

Identify and tag items to stage on Customer orders and or internal orders.

Tag and identify staging area for each order

Receive and inspect commercial items ordered from suppliers.

Operate a forklift to load / unload trucks and to remove / replace items on inventory shelves.

Work with other inventory personnel to identify tag locate stage and deliver to assembly.

Pull issue and deliver items for job orders for spare part orders projects and inventory.

Other tasks as assigned by manager.

The incumbent considers all interests of quality accident prevention and occupational safety as well as environmental safety in a preventive manner within his scope of responsibility and supports the avoidance of damages to people facilities assets material and environment actively.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job in a factory setting the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud and PPE may be required.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This position is very active and requires standing walking bending kneeling stooping crouching crawling and climbing. The employee must be able to lift items up to 80 pounds.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee will be in a warehouse situation and subject to changing environmental conditions. Including but not limited to : temperature variations humidity rain snow wind and direct sunlight.

Job Specification

High School diploma or equivalent education (additional technical skills a plus).

Basic computer skills.
