Senior Systems Administrator

Position Overview: We are seeking a hands-on Senior System Administrator to own and manage the day-to-day IT operations of our Fort Lauderdale office. This role serves as the primary local IT owner in the U.S. and works closely with the Head of IT, who is based in the EU. The Senior System Administrator will support both on-premise systems and an Azure-based cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient IT operations.

This position is ideal for a proactive, self-sufficient IT professional who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys supporting end users, managing infrastructure, and collaborating across regions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary IT point of contact for the Fort Lauderdale office.

• Manage, maintain, and optimize on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure, including Azure.

• Monitor system performance, availability, and security; troubleshoot incidents and resolve issues proactively
  Provide advanced technical support and act as an escalation point for complex IT issues.

• Administer identity, access controls, and user permissions across systems and platforms.

• Manage endpoint and device lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, onboarding, and offboarding.

• Support cybersecurity initiatives, including endpoint security, vulnerability management, and incident response.

• Lead or assist with system upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure projects.

• Coordinate with and manage local IT vendors and service providers.

• Maintain accurate technical documentation, system configurations, and asset records.

• Ensure adherence to IT best practices, policies, and compliance standards.

• Mentor and provide guidance to junior IT staff as needed.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or in a similar role.

• 5 - 7 years of relevant professional experience.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure (AWS or Google Cloud a plus).

• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments and Microsoft-based systems.

• Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and endpoint/device management.

• Experience supporting office-based environments and end users.

• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently while collaborating with cross-functional or global teams.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a multi-region or international organization.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and compliance standards.

• Experience managing third-party vendors and service providers.
