The mission of Circular Services is to keep valuable materials in circulation and minimize the cost and environmental impact of landfills. The company services municipal contracts with some of the largest and fastest growing cities in the U.S. including New York City, Austin, San Antonio, and Phoenix.

We are currently looking for a Traffic Controller to join our facility in Jersey City, NJ.

Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic within the recycling facility to prevent accidents and maintain safety

Enforce safety regulations and ensure compliance with traffic management procedures and guidelines

Use two-way radios or other communications devices to coordinate with drivers, equipment operators, and other staff to manage traffic flow

Resolve conflicts and address traffic-related issues promptly and professionally

Maintain records of traffic incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and report them to the appropriate authorities

Ensure proper placement and visibility of traffic signs, markings, and barriers to guide and regulate traffic

Assist in the training of new employees and contractors on traffic management and safety protocols

Other duties may be assigned

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

One year minimum experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience

Must be able to read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently

One (1) year of previous relevant work experience, preferably in the compost or similar industry

Basic awareness of federal, state, and local job site health and safety rules, regulations, and best practices.

Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells / odors and at times exposure to dangerous and / or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.

Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.

Frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Occasionally required to sit and talk or hear.

Regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 100 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
