Senior Manager, Environmental Health & Safety
Salary Range : $120k to $150k Position Overview
The Senior Manager of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive, organization?wide safety and environmental program. This leader ensures alignment with applicable federal, state, and local regulations while driving continuous improvement in safety culture, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Working independently, the individual will interpret regulatory requirements, manage day-to-day EHS operations, and provide strategic leadership across key program areas, including :

Key Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Program Leadership
Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations across federal, state, and local jurisdictions.Serve as the primary liaison to regulatory agencies and oversee preparation of permits, reports, documentation, and inspections.Develop and manage EHS training programs that support competency, operational compliance, and risk mitigation.Establish short? and long?term strategic plans for safety, environmental protection, and loss control initiatives.
Operational Oversight
Direct the handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous, biological, chemical, electronic, and universal wastes in accordance with regulatory requirements.Perform risk assessments, incident investigations, ergonomic evaluations, and recommend corrective actions.Lead the selection and implementation of EHS management software systems.Oversee third-party safety qualification databases and ensure accurate submission of required documentation.Maintain and update EHS performance metrics (KPIs) to monitor program effectiveness.
Environmental & Safety Program Management
Oversee hazard communication programs, including proper labeling and management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).Lead and train the site’s emergency response team and maintain relevant certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER).Coordinate internal and external EHS audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities.Support product safety assessments and restricted substance management.Ensure strong business continuity, security preparedness, and contingency planning.
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide technical expertise, coaching, and guidance to teams across operations, engineering, and leadership.Promote a proactive safety culture that emphasizes risk prevention, regulatory accountability, and organizational excellence.Partner cross-functionally to evaluate processes, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
