Engineering Manager St. Johns MI

Salary Range : $116000 - $165000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mentor and develop a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians.
  • Oversee the planning execution and successful completion of engineering projects ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives for manufacturing processes equipment and product designs to enhance efficiency quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with production quality R&D and supply chain teams to integrate engineering solutions.
  • Develop and implement engineering strategies and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure all engineering designs processes and equipment comply with industry standards safety regulations and quality requirements.
  • Manage departmental resources including budget allocation equipment and software to optimize engineering capabilities.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical background in relevant engineering disciplines (e.g. Mechanical Electrical Industrial) with direct manufacturing process experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project management including budget scope and timeline oversight for engineering initiatives.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing lean manufacturing principles continuous improvement methodologies and quality systems.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems develop innovative solutions and drive their implementation to improve operational efficiency and product quality.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP MES or PLM systems.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or an MBA.
  • Proven experience in implementing or managing automation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
