Oncology Nurse Navigator

Description

The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) acts as a vital resource throughout the cancer care journey. This RN possesses deep knowledge about treatment options, emotional support, and the financial aspects of a cancer diagnosis. The ONN will assess the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and their families, providing interventions and referrals as necessary. The primary objectives of this position include: 1) Providing patients with educational resources to alleviate some of the stress associated with a cancer diagnosis; 2) Empowering patients to engage actively in their care process; 3) Enhancing their understanding of treatment decisions and plans; and 4) Supporting patients through their treatment journey toward survivorship planning (when applicable).

Required Qualifications:

• Education that meets certification, license, or registration requirements.
• Upon hire: Oregon Registered Nurse License.
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.
• Within 18 months of hire: OCN certification.
• At least 3 years of Oncology experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• OCN certification upon hire.
• Experience in Case Management or as a Clinical Trial Nurse.
