Practice locations : Abbott Northwestern Hospital & United Hospital

Average of 10-15 patients per day

Visits include : New consults; patient rounding; care of infected wounds for sick or septic; identifying source of sepsis; acute management of diabetic or vascular wounds and amputations; amputation

Able to work autonomously and as a team

Small, collaborative team

No first assist

No expected call rotation

Primarily inpatient work, with some possible outpatient clinic expectations after training

Job Description :

Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a physician / nurse team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.

Principle Responsibilities

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
• Refers for specialty care when determined.
• Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.
• Care management for discharge

Pay Range

Pay Range : $55.24 to $76.43 per hour The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and / or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
