Epic charting system experience required

Ability to float within skill set including NICU for level II nursery patients

Description :

The position involves clinical review and auto offer for a 13-week assignment.

The schedule is for nights, totaling 36 hours per week.

Every other weekend (Friday, Saturday) and holiday coverage is required.

Candidates should have experience in postpartum / antepartum care.

Floating within the skill set, including NICU, is required to care for level II nursery patients.

The responsibilities include the administration of blood and blood products, antihypertensives, and IV antibiotics.

Candidates must provide discharge teaching to parents and assess the well-being of both mothers and newborns.

The staff will assist with circumcision, sterile speculum exams, and the collection and storage of breast milk.

Knowledge of baby-friendly protocols and breastfeeding instructions is essential.

Candidates will also be responsible for conducting newborn assessments, managing pain, and performing phlebotomy.

The position requires the ability to educate parents on car seat use and circumcision care.

Management of postpartum hemorrhage, as well as knowledge of medications such as magnesium and insulin, is necessary.

The unit supports rooming in and offers lactation consultant support throughout the week.

Candidates should be familiar with the use of external fetal heart monitoring.

The nursing team will be supported by interdisciplinary services including physical therapy, pharmacy, and social services.
