Program Requirements:
- Must be graduating within the next 6 months or have obtained RN licensure within the last 6 months.
- Candidates graduating within the next 6 months may apply prior to graduation; however, employment cannot begin until proof of passing the NCLEX and RN licensure is obtained.
- All candidates must have successfully passed the NCLEX prior to their start date in the program.
Work Schedule Requirement (Mandatory – Graduate Nurse Residency Program)
This position is full-time and requires commitment to the established scheduling structure of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program.
- Position requires three (3) 12-hour shifts per week
- Rotating weekends are required
- Additional shifts, holidays, and schedule adjustments may be required based on departmental needs
Orientation Phase:
During floor orientation, the graduate nurse’s schedule will mirror the assigned preceptor’s schedule, including shift times and weekends. Schedule flexibility is required during this period to ensure successful clinical integration and competency development.
Post-Orientation Phase:
Upon successful completion of floor orientation, the graduate nurse will transition to a monthly self-scheduling process. However, final schedules remain subject to departmental staffing needs, and shifts may be adjusted accordingly.
The above schedule requirements are mandatory conditions of employment and are essential components of the Graduate Nurse Residency Program. Applicants must be able to meet and maintain these scheduling expectations.
Nurse Residency Program Requirement
All New Graduate Nurses are required to actively participate in the Nurse Residency Program. This structured program is designed to support your professional growth throughout your first year of practice by strengthening clinical competency, building confidence, promoting autonomy, and fostering overall empowerment as a new nurse.
During your initial 8-week orientation period, you will attend a residency class once per week. Following orientation, you will continue participating in monthly residency sessions for the next 9 months.
Participation in all residency sessions is mandatory and considered a condition of employment for all new graduate nurses.
Education
Required: Graduated from a state approved school of nursing or an accredited school.
Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing
Experience:
Preferred: Recent acute care experience.
