We are looking for a Medical Assistant who is a responsible, reliable, friendly, highly motivated team player individual to work in an internal medicine practice in the Bronx.

Responsibilities & Duties

On a regular basis, the Medical Assistant will :

• Conduct patient vision screening, height & weight measurements,
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGS, PFTS as indicated and collect patient specimen samples.
• Update and maintain patients medical records via an electronic medical records system.
• Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment.
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient care services.
• Work in the front office performing tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as the arrive.
• Assist the Office Manager in maintaining inventory of and ordering medical supplies as needed.

Qualifications :

Full-time position Monday-Friday

Must be available to work Saturdays

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as an MA (Medical assistant certificate)

Must be detail-oriented and bilingual in English & Spanish

Must have experience using system EMR, so you must be computer literate

Pay starts at $20 / hr.

Schedule / reschedule patient appointments.

Take the initiative to assist other staff with scanning, faxing, etc.

Must be a fast learner.

Multitask skills & team player

Compliant with HIPAA.
