Estimating Director (Electrical Manufacturing)

Our client is a leader in power distribution and protection systems, offering advanced relay and control panels, medium-voltage switchgear, and enclosures, including power and control buildings (E-Houses). They provide customized, turn-key solutions that ensure safe, secure, and reliable power distribution.

The Director of Estimating will oversee national estimating teams and processes. Responsibilities include developing and implementing estimating procedures, maintaining a high bid success rate with strong profit margins, and fostering talent within the department. This role requires travel to the Canada and Texas offices for at least one week every two months to review projects and promote a positive culture among engineering teams.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in the electric utility industry.
• 8+ years of experience in a leadership capacity.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams.
• Ability to interpret commercial documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Strong critical thinking skills and sound independent judgment.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and related programs such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
