The Opportunity: We need you to join our team as a Director of Assisted Living: The Director of Assisted Living is responsible for the overall operational and supervisory oversight of nursing care in the Memory Care and Assisted Living Unit, through the performance of the assisted living and memory care team. The Director of Assisted Living and Memory Care is responsible for providing a "system of care" for residents in a manner and environment that promotes the maintenance or enhancement of each resident's quality of life and provides dignity and respect, in full recognition of each resident's individuality.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervises and oversees direct nursing care in the Assisted Living unit and Memory Care.
- Makes routine rounds to ensure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
- Oversee accurate and pertinent documentation for all areas of the resident medical record to be completed timely and in compliance with Florida state law.
- Lead all hiring initiatives in addition to the evaluation and performance management of the team and provide mentorship and leadership to the department. Responsible for successful team member onboarding to the department. Monitor and document team members' performance and use appropriate coaching or disciplinary measures as needed. Provide leadership direction with staffing and advise team members on work assignments.
- Responsible for the education and ongoing training regarding new and existing state guidelines.
- Promote and maintain working relationships and open communication with the community health delivery system, including residential living, skilled nursing, and third-party vendors.
- Promote and maintain open lines of communication with residents and their responsible parties.
- Attend and participate in resident service plan meetings.
- Respond to emergency calls as necessary.
- Conduct level of care assessments at least quarterly to assess for appropriateness in receiving assisted living services and ensure that the service plans address residents' specific needs.
- Conduct investigations as needed into Incidents.
- Review the completeness of the documentation of Incidents
- Ensures reporting of incidents to AHCA in compliance with Federal and state laws.
- Some "on call" is required.
QUALIFICATIONS: - RN is currently licensed in the State of Florida.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience leading a team is required.
- Florida ALF experience preferred.
- CORE Trained is preferred, and or acquire certification within 90 days of employment.

- Must have geriatric experience and sensitivity to their interests and understanding of their physical limitations, cognitive abilities, and an appreciation for their psycho-social well-being.
- Demonstrate a professional manner to effectively deal with families, physicians, and related support group relationships. Demonstrate discernment regarding the residents' and team members' needs. Make solid decisions regarding care, concerns, and necessary improvements.
- 2-3 years of supervisory/leadership experience in either Skilled Nursing and or Assisted Living
- Strong communication skills
- ECC/LNS knowledge
- Excellent customer service abilities
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS: This position requires the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. The role involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching, with the ability to stand and/or walk for much of the workday. The employee must be able to assist with resident transfers and repositioning in accordance with safe patient handling standards, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices as required. The position requires the ability to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. The work environment may include exposure to offensive odors, communicable diseases, frequent interruptions, and occasional combative behaviors.
