Float Registered Nurse Job Details :

Schedule : Floater; Hours and Days vary.

Location : 3201 FM 2004 Texas City, TX 77591

Temporary to hire

Starting Pay Rate : $33.33 / hour + (based on experience)

Float Registered Nurse Responsibilities :

• Deliver nursing care to individuals with mental illness, substance use issues, and dual diagnoses.
• Administer medications according to the five rights of medication administration, following all storage, handling, and documentation requirements.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, perform diagnostic tests, and administer medications.
• Educate patients on medication initiation, changes, and discharge instructions; provide group education on health topics including medication management, nutrition, smoking cessation, and diabetes.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of nursing care and patient observations.
• Implement interventions as needed, adhering to established policies and procedures.
• Maintain communication with supervisors and collaborate with medical and care coordination teams.
• Ensure psychoactive medications are administered and documented appropriately per MAR guidelines and informed consent procedures (except in emergencies).

Education Requirements :

Job Requirements :

1+ year's experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
