We are hiring a Journeyman Electrician to upgrade refrigeration control panels at retail locations across multiple states. You will replace breakers, contactors, fuse blocks, and main feeders to meet NEC-2023 standards during carefully planned one-hour shutdown windows. This is a 3-month contract position based out of Cincinnati, OH, with 100% travel to project sites. Training begins at the office; then you deploy on a rolling regional schedule with lodging and meals fully covered.

- Per diem : $85 / day lodging + $40 / day meals and incidentals

Key Responsibilities – Journeyman Electrician
Replace breakers, contactors, fuse blocks, and main feeders inside control cabinets to NEC-2023 compliance; affix R-class fuse stickers upon completion.Coordinate with refrigeration control technicians to safely power down, complete work, and restore systems within a 60-minute rack shutdown window.Inspect existing wiring and components; identify and report conditions that could delay restart or compromise safety.Travel to assigned retail stores and distribution centers according to rolling project calendar; lodging, mileage, and per diem provided.Document all work on tablet including components replaced, torque readings, photos, and compliance sign-offs.Qualifications – Journeyman Electrician
Active Journeyman Electrician license (state-recognized; master license not required)Three (3) or more years of hands-on experience installing or replacing breakers, contactors, fuse blocks, or main feeders in control cabinets or MCCsDemonstrated knowledge of NEC requirements for commercial refrigeration and electrical systems; ability to read single-line and wiring diagramsValid driver's license with clean MVR; ability to travel and stay overnight for up to 2 weeks at a timeBasic computer / tablet proficiency for documentation and time entryPreferred Qualifications – Electrician – Refrigeration Systems
Familiarity with NFPA 70E arc-flash safety protocolsPrior experience working in retail or food distribution environmentsComfort working independently on remote job sites with minimal supervisionPhysical Requirements – Journeyman Electrician
Lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs regularlyStand, kneel, and work on ladders for extended periodsWork indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and cold refrigeration environmentsTravel 100% of the time across multiple states; up to 2 consecutive weeks away from homeVariable shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends to accommodate store shutdown window.
