Experience : Minimum of 1 year of experience in antepartum or labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

License : Current RN License issued by the appropriate board.

Certifications : Current Basic Life Support, ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program required upon hire.

Must-Have : Level 1 experience in antepartum or labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care.

Description :

Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients.

Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments.

Note all changes in physician orders on assigned patients.

Assist physicians in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.

Obtain and monitor physiological data of patients.

Observe the physiological manifestations of patients and intervene when necessary.

Administer medication as prescribed.

Initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products.

Deliver patient care competently.

Interact with family and patients in sharing the care plan while in the hospital and at the time of discharge.

Inform patients and families of hospital procedures.

Make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.

Delegate tasks to support staff.
