Sales Development Representative (SDR)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team, where you will be responsible for engaging with inbound leads and discussing upcoming roofing and construction projects. This role is crucial in establishing rapport with potential clients and gathering relevant information to help guide them through the initial stages of their project. The ideal candidate will have a natural conversational style, be able to ask insightful questions, and build meaningful relationships with clients. You will conduct market research on leads and ensure that every call feels personalized and tailored to the client's needs.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Engagement & Conversation Management

  • Handle inbound calls from leads, discussing upcoming roofing and construction projects, answering inquiries, and gathering key information.
  • Establish rapport with leads, engaging in natural and friendly conversations to ensure they feel comfortable and valued.
  • Provide initial information about services, pricing, and timelines, ensuring that clients understand how the company can meet their needs.
  • Gather important customer details, such as project scope, location, and specific requirements, to pass along to the sales or project management team.

Market Research & Lead Preparation

  • Conduct market research on leads prior to calls, including looking up addresses on Google Earth to gather relevant details about the property and tailor the conversation.
  • Use the information gathered during market research to make touchpoints feel personalized and relevant, demonstrating a deep understanding of the client's needs.
  • Customer Information Collection

  • Collect customer data, ensuring accurate and detailed information is recorded and passed to the appropriate team members for follow-up.
  • Qualify leads based on their interest, needs, and readiness to move forward with a project, ensuring that only high-quality leads are passed along for further engagement.
  • Follow-Up & Persistence

  • Maintain a proactive approach to follow-up calls, ensuring leads are nurtured and not overlooked.
  • Track all lead interactions in the CRM system, ensuring that all relevant data is logged and the follow-up process is streamlined.
  • Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified leads.
  • Provide regular updates on call performance, lead quality, and any insights gathered during conversations with potential clients.
  • Qualifications

    Experience & Skills

  • 1+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or a similar client-facing role.
  • Fluent in English, with strong communication skills and the ability to engage clients in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ability to engage in natural conversations and establish rapport quickly over the phone.
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to prepare for calls by gathering relevant market data and insights.
  • Proficient in using basic office tools (Google Earth, CRM software, etc.) to gather and record lead information.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring customer information is accurately recorded and tracked.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of customer service.
  • Ability to handle rejection and stay persistent, with a positive and professional attitude.

  • Excellent rapport-building skills, with the ability to make each lead feel valued and heard.
