Geotechnical Geologist (Entry Level)

Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time entry level Geotechnical Geologist to support a long-term project located in Northern New Jersey.

This position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals (12 years of experience preferred) looking to gain hands-on field experience while working alongside licensed engineers and geologists in the A / E / C industry!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Monitoring construction and geologic operations;
• Collecting samples of materials as needed and when applicable
• Utilizing field testing equipment to determine compliance with project plans specifications and industry standards;
• Reviewing approved plans specifications and submittals for inspection requirements;
• Compliance with inspection requirements in accordance with the applicable code approved plans and specifications;
• Processing daily field reports and inspection reports and following procedures for notification of discrepancies; and
• Communicating with project managers colleagues and contractors as required;
• This position may require occasional night and weekend work based on project needs.

Testing procedures and inspections may include conducting field testing and sampling of concrete in accordance with ASTM standard procedures conducting in-place density testing of soils and / or asphalt using testing equipment assisting with conducting coring operations with concrete and / or asphalt and soils sampling / inspection.

PAY RANGE

Tectonics goal is to compensate employees fairly and equitable across all positions Companywide. Our advertised pay ranges are representative of our good faith effort to provide a reasonable anticipated salary range. The offered pay may be outside of the provided salary range based upon the selected candidates work location experience education certifications and capabilities compared to the advertised position.

Pay Range : $28.00 - $32.00 / hour
