YOUR MISSION
True Anomaly is seeking an innovative Senior Electrical Power Systems engineer to help design, analyze, implement, and test spacecraft power subsystems including solar arrays, batteries, charge controllers, grounding, DC / DC converters, and power distribution electronics on schedule and within budget. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of spacecraft systems, circuit analyses and design including schematic capture, power integrity, worst case analysis, grounding, derating, and reliability along with the ability to lead subsystem development and mentor engineers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development of spacecraft EPS hardware : solar arrays, batteries, power distribution units, DC / DC converters, and protection systemsPerform analysis, modeling, and trade studies under guidance from senior engineers and technical leadsImplement and test EPS components in the lab, using oscilloscopes, power supplies, loads, and solar arrays simulatorsLead the development of requirements, design documentation, and design reviewsLead EPS integration and test activities on spacecraft hardware with cross-functional teamsLead the develop of fault protection strategies, power budgets, and power modelingConduct validation testing including EMI / EMC, thermal cycling, battery characterization, and converter performanceLead root-cause investigations and corrective-action implementationFollow established processes for configuration control, safety, and hardware traceabilityEnsure spacecraft electrical power subsystems meets mission requirementsTake ownership of schedules, budgets, and risk management activities for the EPS scope on programsHelp develop processes, tools, and training for the electrical power teamQUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)5+ years of professional experience with spacecraft or high-reliability electrical power systems designDemonstrated experience with spacecraft power modeling, analysis, components, and fault managementPREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong technical background in solar arrays, battery technologies (Li-ion, LiFePO4), charge control, DC / DC converters, peak power tracking and power distributionUnderstanding of radiation effects on power systems and mitigation techniquesExperience with analog and digital electrical design practicesFamiliarity with lab test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, electrical loads, solar array simulators)Experience designing, analyzing, and testing for EMI / EMC effectsExperience integrating and debugging system level interactions in a HIL / SIL environmentKnowledge and experience with power supply stability and analysisCOMPENSATION
Base Salary : $130,000-$175,000Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA / HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental LeaveYour actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations : job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
