About The Position

Job Title : CT / Rad Tech

Profession : Radiologic Technologist

Specialty : Acute Care

Duration : 14 weeks

Shift : Full Time (4x9s)

Hours per Shift : 10 : 45 PM to 7 : 15 AM

Experience : Minimum 1 year of CT Tech experience with solid Rad Tech / X-Ray experience or C-Arm experience

License : NYS License

Certifications : ARRT, BLS

Must-Have :

• CT / Rad Tech position
• Minimum 1 year of experience in required modalities

Description :

Performs technical radiographic assignments.

Exercises complex skills, judgement, and knowledge of the principles and methods of CT and Radiologic Technology.

Performs diagnostic radiographic studies as requested.

Operates portable diagnostic radiographic equipment where needed.

Performs Infection Control according to Universal Precautions.

Radiologic Technologist shall have the ability to provide care to infant, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

Operates with accuracy radiographic, CT, image processors, and other related equipment across different modalities.

Evaluates images for quality and demonstrates accurate positioning based on procedure guidelines.

Provides clear and concise instructions during procedures to calm and relieve stress for patients.

Maintains competency in the required modalities.

Ensures that proper radiation protection is used for self, patients, and other personnel through proper collimation, lead shielding, and techniques when applicable.

Demonstrates flexibility in assuming emergency call on weekdays, weekends, and holidays in addition to routine hours.

Demonstrates competency in RIS and PACS.

Utilizes the system to enter and edit patient exams and charges.

Records other appropriate data, scans documents, and makes notes.

Responsible for the performance of radiographic and CT studies with and / or without IV contrast enhancement.

Follows NYSDOH Part 16 guidelines.

Performs required QC activities.

Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated.

Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, and tissues.
