License : Valid nursing license required. Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have : Cardiac Telemetry experience. Experience in PCU / DOU / IMC / Stepdown. Ability to perform sheath removal. Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with post-MI care and pre / post cardiac catheterization. Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips. Familiarity with chest tubes (Emerson / Pleuravac). Experience with external CPAP / BIPAP and non-invasive airway management. Description : Cross-posting of job ID after booking is not allowed. Traveler experience is required unless the traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience. Local candidates are accepted with a rate difference. Ratios vary per acuity. Ratios are 1 : 4 for surgical step down, and 1 : 5-6 for lower acuity. Weekend requirements are 4 shifts every 4 weeks, with flexibility. Contract staff will be assigned to a storm team or hurricane team. Contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualties, or disasters. Consolidation to a centralized office during the contract may occur, and staff may be pre-assigned to units as needed. Expected patient diagnoses include atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndrome, coronary artery disease, aortic stenosis / regurgitation, mitral regurgitation / stenosis, endocarditis, cardiomyopathy, and others. The unit handles special procedures such as CABG, AVR, MVR, and other cardiac and thoracic surgeries. Special equipment includes arterial lines, EKG, chest tubes, and various cardiac monitoring devices. Charting systems used include EPIC. Candidates must be comfortable floating to other units as needed. This position requires the ability to work nights and provides continuous patient care in a dynamic environment.
