Parkwood Day School is hiring Lead and Assistant Teachers for our early education program partnership with Garnett First United Methodist Church!

Current openings include : a 0-3 teacher and a floater. The individuals selected for teaching positions at Parkwood Day School at G1UMC should have a desire to work with children, families, and staff members in the field of Early Childhood Education. An applicant must be a responsible individual that is emotionally and physically able to perform daily duties and relate well with others. We offer competitive pay for all staff, benefit choice and PTO after 60 days for full-time employees.

Qualifications for Full Time Lead Teachers :

• Preferred 6 months experience as a lead teacher in a licensed center within the last 5 years.
• Preferred CDA, AA, or BA in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or have a working plan to complete a Bachelor's in ECE or related field.
• Preferred KCCTO Foundations Certification & First Aid / CPR
• Applicants with a background in special education will be strongly considered.
• Preferred knowledge of the High Scope curriculum, Learning Without Tears Curriculum and Conscious Discipline

Qualifications for Assistant Lead Teachers :

Preferred minimum of 3 months experience working in a licensed center within the last 5 years.

Preferred KCCTO Foundations Certification & First Aid / CPR

All applicants must have or be willing to complete the following :

Current health assessment

Negative TB test

Training Courses : child development, signs and symptoms of illness, child abuse and neglect w / head trauma, first aid & CPR and other required coursework.

All employees will complete KBI background checks with fingerprinting.
