Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float position at a Magnet-certified, Academic Level 1 Trauma Center in Madison, WI, requiring multi-ICU experience and a willingness to float across critical care units.
Details
- Critical Care Float position within a Magnet-designated academic Level 1 Trauma Center
- Float role covering a variety of critical care units including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, and Trauma Surgery
- May also be assigned to IMC, Progressive Care, or General Care units based on staffing needs
- Travelers are the first to float and may be scheduled across multiple units or locations within the organization
- If the primary department no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another department for the remainder of the contract
- Adult patient population
- Night shift: 7p–7:30a, with 8- and 12-hour shift options
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday rotation required
- Epic EMR required, preferably with experience within the last 12 months
Requirements
- Active WI RN license or compact RN license from permanent address state
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
- At least one completed travel assignment (13 weeks) required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Experience across multiple ICU specialties required (e.g., Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic, Burn ICU, Trauma Surgery)
- Experience in an academic Level 1 Trauma Center required
- Basic arrhythmia/telemetry experience required; must pass a telemetry test prior to start
- Epic EMR experience required
- Permanent address must be located 50+ miles from the facility
