JOB SUMMARY

The REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (RRT) is a qualified professional who directs, supervises, evaluates, and provides respiratory therapy services to patients as prescribed by the attending physician. Respiratory therapy care is provided as authorized by the applicable state scope of practice regulations.

The CERTIFIED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST (CRTT) is a qualified technician who directs, supervises, evaluates, and provides respiratory therapy services to patients as prescribed by the attending physician. Respiratory therapy care is provided as authorized by the applicable state scope of practice regulations.

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree in respiratory therapy or Associate Degree in respiratory therapy.

LICENSURE

Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Therapy (NBRT) as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRRT). Current and unrestricted state licensure as required by the state of practice.

EXPERIENCE

At least two years of NICU RRT respiratory therapy / technician experience in a clinical environment.

MEDITECH - 6.1 Charting system required.

CREDENTIALS

Current CPR as required by client facility; other health and screening tests as required by specific facilities and / or regulatory agencies.

BLS, PALS certifications required, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Verification

ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS

Various client facility settings; possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious materials.
