We’re searching for a Field Application Engineer to serve as the technical liaison between customers and engineering, combining hands-on troubleshooting with technology introduction and customer engagement. This position is entry-level, onsite, and pays $50,000 to $60,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote technical support for display monitor, touchscreen, and embedded monitor systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hardware and firmware issues in the field.
- Communicate directly with key customers regarding technical issues, service actions, and product performance.
- Support return material authorization (RMA – customer return process) and refurbishment tasks, including inspection, failure analysis, and repair reporting.
- Introduce new technologies via demos and proof-of-concepts (POCs – small scale trials).
- Support pre-sales technical discovery and solution architecture.
- Capture customer requirements and communicate to HQ.
- Support new product introduction (NPI – new product launches) validation and adoption through customer feedback coordination.
- Manage product quality issues (ESD – electrostatic discharge, USB, boot-up, thermal / brightness limits) and work with Kortek HQ engineering teams on resolutions.
- Maintain accurate service logs, technical reports, and documentation.
- Train customer technicians and internal teams in installation and troubleshooting procedures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in electrical / electronic engineering, or a related technical fieldExperience with display systems, touch interfaces, and embedded firmware.Experience with installation, maintenance, repair, or troubleshooting of equipment or electronic devices (including relevant academic projects or lab experience)Understanding of display monitor architecture and operating principlesProactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and self-directed.Strong sense of responsibility and adherence to company procedures and quality standardsAbility to travel to customer sites as needed.Experience in the gaming equipment manufacturing industry is preferred but not required.Proficient written and verbal communication skills in Korean is preferred but not required.
