Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment for preschool children in the playground. The Security Officer will also be responsible for monitoring and responding to any safety/security concerns in the parking lot area where children are dropped off and picked up by their parents. This role requires a proactive approach to security, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed while providing excellent service and a supportive environment for Pre-School children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and patrol designated areas to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates.
• Identify and respond to the unique needs of children and individuals with special needs.
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents.
• Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and safety within the facility.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary, providing detailed reports on incidents or suspicious activities.

Shifts
Multiple shifts available, ranging from 5.5 to 9.5 hours long.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Security Guard or in a similar position is preferred
• Valid Guard Card in CT
• High school diploma/GED
• Strong high-level computer skills
• Strong understanding of public safety and security procedures
• Excellent conflict management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• First aid certification is highly desirable; CPR certification is a plus.
• Excellent written communication skills and report writing ability
• High level of integrity and professionalism
• Attention to detail and strong observational skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policies.
