Leidos'Defense SystemsPersistent Surveillance Portfolioisseekinga highly experiencedChief Engineerto lead the technical execution of a large, multi-phase radar program with concurrent development, test, production, and sustainment activities. Primary Responsibilities.Using Bullet Format-

• Lead your technical teamto design a product that conforms to requirements, on schedule, within budget.

• Manage scope creep.

• Serve as the program's technical lead for engineering execution, system performance, and compliance with requirements across multiple product lifecycle stages.

• Communicate technical progress, challenges, and opportunities to senior leadership and government stakeholders.

• Provide technical direction and oversight to subsystem leads, IPTs, and specialty engineering disciplines to ensure design maturity, integration, and risk mitigation.

• Mentor and develop technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, rigor, and collaboration across the engineering organization.

WHAT SETS YOU APART (basic qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree inMechanical, Electrical, Systems, or AerospaceEngineering from an ABET accredited university.

• 17years or more of progressive engineering experienceor 15+years experiencewith Masters degree.

• Experiencein alead or chief engineer roleon large DoD or aerospace program.

• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-disciplinary engineering teams supportingconcurrent development, integration, test, and production.

• Excellent technical judgment and ability to communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience with formal design review processes (PDR/CDR), configuration management, and risk management practices.

• Active DoD Secret security clearance.

• Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL, area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with radar, EO/IR, or other advanced sensing technologies.

• Experience with mobile military primer movers (FMTV) and power generation (AMMPS)

• Experience with government development testing

Pay Range:

Pay Range $154,050.00 - $278,475.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
