American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring high-risk L&D expertise, a current WA or compact RN license, and the ability to circulate and provide newborn care.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a high-volume, high-acuity Labor & Delivery unitUnit averages 15 patients per day with 500-600 deliveries per monthDepartment features 31 beds and 4 operating roomsPatient population includes midwifery clients, high-risk pregnancies, OB patients, and substance recovery supportCare for both mother and newborn, including private OB and community clinic referralsRequires floating to Postpartum, Antepartum, and potentially sister Mother / Baby units within the stateDay shift, 3x12 hours from 7 : 00 to 19 : 30, with schedule posted every 6 weeksRequired to work every other weekend and holidays as neededUses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoringDuties include circulating in deliveries and providing newborn care such as eyes, thighs, vitamin K, and assessmentsMust function independently in a fast-paced, high-risk environment while adhering to AWHONN staffing guidelinesTeam supports adult recovery services for substance use and works with both midwifery and private OB clientsStaff must be able to float within the system as requiredReturning perm staff must have a separation of at least 3 months and live more than 50 miles from the facilityHoliday and weekend shifts are required as scheduledScrub requirements consistent with hospital policy\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact RN license requiredMinimum 3-5 years of recent high-acuity, high-volume L&D experience requiredHigh-risk labor and delivery experience requiredMust provide current supervisory references and proof of certificationsExperience with circulating in OR and comprehensive newborn care is requiredBLS and NRP certifications requiredPreferred certifications : ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN IntermediateProficiency with Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring requiredExperience with procedures including heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration is requiredNot eligible for first-time travelers\n Benefits\n
