Biomedical Engineer/Chemical Engineer

Oakwood Laboratories is looking to add to their Formulation Research and Development Team!

This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in advancing their career at a technology-based pharmaceutical company. You will focus on development of sustained release microsphere projects in various stages of development. You will support projects through pre-formulation laboratory experiments and studies, product formulation testing, and process scale up ranging from laboratory to pilot scale. This role will require you to work as part of small multi-disciplinary technical teams on sustained release injectable drug development projects and you will have direct input on solving complex problems and contributing to project success. Essential job functions include:

• Formulate batches in a laboratory and pilot plant setting, using complex manufacturing processes to design and improve microsphere products
• Develop and optimize new innovative processes and technologies for use in formulation development and manufacturing
• Present analyses and recommendations in product development team meetings
• Collaborate with team members from multiple departments within the company and with external clients to achieve project and company goals
• Work in an FDA-regulated environment and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Attributes required include:

• Bachelor of Science, Masters, or PhD Degree in Biomedical or Chemical Engineering or closely related science field with chemistry and mathematics in coursework
• Basic lab skill obtained from college science labs, internships, or through one year of industry experience
• Desire to learn and grow within a team-oriented environment
• Good documentation and written and oral communication skills
• Time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently to meet company deadlines
