Job Summary / Company :

Sparks Group has partnered with an established financial services organization to find a Technical Specialist. As the Technical Specialist you will be responsible for making sure technology is running and designed to deliver the product to the customer as well as identifying, logging and resolving any issues. The ideal candidate will have 2 years of relative experience, able to work in a fast-paced environment while multi-tasking and prioritizing needs.

Responsibilities :

  • Support and resolve issues related to servers, mainframes, and network devices, including WAN, IP Telephony, and wide-area-network services.
  • Monitor system health and performance using diagnostic tests and surveillance tools, proactively addressing connectivity issues and assisting with help desk requests.
  • Install and test communications equipment, implement system changes, and create technical documentation to support efficient troubleshooting and disaster recovery.
  • Interface with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve installation issues, coordinate projects, and develop technical solutions for new integrations.
  • Assist in the implementation and decommissioning of services, and train operations representatives on various networks and systems.

Qualifications / Background Profile :

  • Bachelor's degree or education / training in an IT related field
  • 2+ years' experience with Cisco routers switches and Firewall
  • 2+ years' experience with authoring management packs
  • 2+ years' experience with working with Database, MQ, WebSphere
  • 2+ years' experience with Red Hat Linux and in an enterprise environment
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and support of distributed financial services transaction processing platforms
  • 2+ years using VMWARE 5.X or 6.X
  • Experience using various versions of Windows Servers
  • Experience in analyzing debugging issues as it applies to Cisco switches and routers
  • Strong hands-on experience with JAVA server-side technology and J2EE App server preferably WebSphere
  • Strong working knowledge of LINUX commands, shell scripting and database queries (e.g. for troubleshooting as well as data patching)
  • Datacenter and Monitoring Experience
  • Strong knowledge of relational database Microsoft SQL and DB2

    • This job is Hybrid Remote.
