Job Description

We are seeking an experienced General Surgery Nurse Practitioner for a 10-day locum tenens assignment in New York. This opportunity begins on Jan 2, 2026, and features 12-hour shifts with a mix of days and nights. Flexibility is essential, as providers will be scheduled according to hospital coverage needs.

Provider Type Needed : General Surgery Nurse Practitioner
Schedule : 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm and 7pm-7am), with both day and night shifts assigned based on coverage requirements

Responsibilities and Duties

Perform and assist with appendectomy procedures

Manage cholecystectomy cases

Support hernia repairs

Participate in colectomy procedures

Assist with small bowel resections

Adapt to changing shift assignments as directed by hospital needs

Additional Information

Active Nurse Practitioner license required in New York

Previous experience in emergency room settings is required

Board certification in General Surgery required

Flexibility in shift assignments is non-negotiable
