Nuclear Med Tech PD

SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Ambulatory Clinical Manager, and indirectly under the supervision of the TMH Manager of Medical Imaging, performs the routine clinical studies and the daily supportive work necessary to facilitate Nuclear Medicine patient studies and assists the Nuclear Cardiologists in the daily operations of the CVI Nuclear Medicine testing service. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age-specific needs of the adult and geriatric patient in order to adapt their care to their physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs. The core Success Factors include: Instill Trust and Value Differences Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate RESPONSIBILITIES: Schedules and performs patient studies and analyses as outlined in the department procedure manual with any special instructions from the Ambulatory Clinical Manager or Nuclear Cardiologists. Proficiently operates all gamma cameras, and related computer stations, uptake units, dose calibrator, well counter, survey meters, imager, and all other equipment pertinent to the job. Maintains level of knowledge of and expertise in the professional disciplines and educational methodologies by continuing professional development and by participating in ongoing independent study, and education-related professional activities and affiliations. Follows all Radiation Safety guidelines as described in the department policy and procedure manual and state regulations. Performs all Quality control procedures on equipment as described in department policy and procedure manual as well as state regulations. Trains new staff members on process and procedures. Completes all required training assigned in Safety Net. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: BASIC KNOWLEDGE: Completion of formal training in an approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology. Maintains current license to practice in the State of Rhode Island. Must hold current Nuclear Medicine ARRT or CNMT certification. Must demonstrate the interpersonal skills necessary to interface effectively with patients, with visitors, and with hospital staff at all levels. Must have knowledge and physical ability to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment. Must demonstrate the analytical ability necessary to calculate and prepare radiopharmaceuticals appropriate to the prescribed procedure and patient. Should possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout their Brown University Health, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years' experience.

Pay Range:

$38.78-$64.00
