Position Overview : Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neurosurgery, committed to providing exceptional care for patients in our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit. You will work with a diverse and complex patient population, including individuals recovering from various neurosurgical procedures.
Location : Aurora St Lukes Medical Center - 2900 W Oklahoma Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53215
Your Role : In this full-time position with 36 hours per week, you'll engage in nights, with opportunities for 8 or 12-hour shifts, including a holiday and every third weekend rotation.
Compensation and Benefits :
- Competitive pay range of $37.50 - $56.25, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Sign-on bonus of $15,000 for 3rd shift nurses.

Unit Overview : As a nurse in the Neurosurgical Unit, your responsibilities will include :
Caring for post-operative craniotomy patients, including those undergoing procedures for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Assisting in the care of patients undergoing cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Managing the care of hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients within our Comprehensive Stroke Program.Overseeing a high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients alongside medical overflow cases.Key Responsibilities :
Deliver evidence-based patient care that prioritizes the needs of every individual.Collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary teams to ensure therapeutic and compassionate care.Utilize your clinical judgment and critical thinking to promote optimal patient outcomes.Contribute positively to the overall patient experience across the healthcare continuum.Qualifications :
Registered Nurse license from the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.Graduation from an accredited nursing program.A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience is typically required.Skills and Abilities :
Ability to provide holistic patient care and view clinical situations from a patient and family perspective.Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Team collaboration and effective delegation skills.Knowledge of electronic medical records and electronic communication.Physical Requirements :
