Fire Alarm Project Manager / Estimator

A growing fire protection contractor is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Project Manager / Estimator to manage projects from bid through close-out. This is a combined role responsible for estimating, project coordination, scheduling, materials, inspections, and client communication within the fire alarm division.

The ideal candidate can independently handle multiple TI, retrofit, and ground-up projects while ensuring compliance with NFPA 72 and local AHJ requirements. This role serves as the main point of contact between field technicians, designers, clients, general contractors, and inspectors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate fire alarm estimates, proposals, and scopes of work
• Conduct site walks and review plans, specs, and code requirements
• Manage awarded projects from design and permitting through installation and close-out
• Coordinate materials, schedules, inspections, and testing
• Serve as primary liaison for clients, GCs, designers, and field staff
• Track job costs, profitability, billing, and project status
• Prepare RFIs, submittals, and maintain organized project documentation

Qualifications:

• Fire alarm estimating and project management experience required
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA 72 and AHJ processes
• Ability to read fire alarm drawings, risers, and device layouts
• NICET I preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects
• Proficient with Outlook, spreadsheets, PDFs, and basic project management tools
