Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Logistics Engineering Manager-2 to join our Linthicum, MD based Logistics and Product Support organization. This position is a dual-role position that involves leadership of a team of Logistics Engineers performing Product Support Analysis and / or Sustainment Engineering tasks while also performing similar tasks.

Product Support is an integral part of the Systems Engineering process which addresses the Trade Studies and Business case Analysis needed to define and implement the complete infrastructure of resources needed to field, operate and maintain a weapon system. Typical work products of a Logistics Engineer include Level Of Repair Analysis (LORA), Life Cycle Cost (LCC), Support Equipment Requirement Document (SERD), Logistics Product Data (LPD) generation, Reliability-based Spares Models, Analysis of maintenance and repair activities, and the identification and mitigation of Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS).

Roles and Responsibilities : This is a dual-role functional Manager-2 position. As a dual-role position, the qualified candidate shall spend approximately 20% leading a team of Logistics Systems Engineers working on a variety of products supporting US Army, US Air Force, US Navy, US Marine Corps and other customers. The qualified candidate shall also be a technical performer, working approximately 80% directly on various Mission Systems products in a Logistics Engineering role.

Management role : The successful candidate will manage employees based on organizational goals, program activity, and company policies. The candidate will apply both technical knowledge and organizational skills to solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Specific management responsibilities include :

• Cultivate a productive workplace which meets strategic goals, and program-specific technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Build diverse and inclusive teams that achieve high levels of engagement, maintains employee' work-life balance, provide mentorship and coaching, and align with Northrop Grumman's ethics, values and leadership behaviors.
• Recruiting new talent to fulfill staffing commitments adequate to execute to program plans, as well as for strategic growth.
• Assign workforce assignments and fill program needs to ensure success, but which also offer growth to the individuals performing the work.
• Conduct performance evaluations on an ongoing basis to identify growth opportunities, deficiencies, appropriate training, and manage compensation and career progression.
• Facilitate / mediate in conflict resolution matters.
• Instruct employees and review employee work products described in the Job description section above.
• Review and signoff on proposal work products.
