SUMMARY :
The Associate Engineer or Engineer I is a recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in engineering who is responsible for supporting and executing engineering projects. The Associate Engineer will work closely with other engineers, technicians, and researchers to develop products and technologies, improve products and processes, and solve engineering problems. This includes the design, testing, and certification of components, engines, and aircraft.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Creates clear, concise, inspectable, and manufacturable design data according to company standards, related specifications, engineering principles, customer, and regulatory requirements. Understands when it is appropriate to use GD&T, but biases towards standards.
- Creates clear, concise, and complete documentation including all required sections and content.
- Creates change requests and notices, sometimes with help from more senior staff.
- Creates change notices including stock lists, object associations, and attributes in accordance with standards.
- Provides clear and concise project status, progress reports to the customer, project team, and management.
- Is aware of common analysis methods and their application such as failure, pareto, materials, stress, fatigue, and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Creates requirements and uses systematic verification and validation techniques to identify issues associated within a single change or requirement.
- Can gain context within the product development lifecycle with help from more senior engineers.
- Is aware of overall product architecture and engine theory.
- Understands the importance of security including protection of intellectual property, import and export compliance.
