What you get to do:
This role will oversee our financial and accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, budgeting and compliance within accounting standards. This park leader will manage the park accounting staff, prepare financial reports and help analyze data to support important decision making within the park.
We are looking for someone who will:
- Collaborate with corporate shared services team to support time sensitive revenue and journal entries
- Partners with local divisional leaders across the two Texas properties
- Lead the local team in month end close processes including checkbook & journal entry review, reconciliation support, and P&L variance analysis
- Oversees and executes month-end financial close processes including reviewing and approving various journal entries, preparing and reviewing reports at various levels of the business for actuals, documenting variance explanations and reviewing reconciliations
- Oversees monthly operating cost reporting including monthly forecasting and distribution to management and assisting with the development of the annual operating plan
- Assist in the development and monitoring of budgets and forecast for the various divisions within the two Texas properties
- Ensures compliance with accounting standards, regulations and internal controls
- Manages direct reports by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management – specifically for accounting and business analyst staff as well as the revenue (cash control) team who are responsible for:Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual financial accountingDaily/Weekly revenue transaction entries and POS operations complianceSpecial event ticket printingWorking closely with corporate finance shared services
- Assisting corporate with the preparation of any filings or concessionaire payments
- Supports the development and implementation of best practices for the new SAP S4 Hana accounting system
- Working with park departments to ensure accurate and timely procurement requisition, service acceptance and goods receipt processing
- Partners with corporate Procurement, Accounting, Revenue, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Reports to and supports, VP of Finance for SeaWorld and Aquatica San Antonio
- Perform other duties as assigned
What it takes to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
- At least 3 years of leadership experience
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, team building, organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
- Strong knowledge of forecasting, analytical thinking, and budgeting
- Advanced Excel skills, strong planning and scheduling, and financial planning.
- Proficient knowledge of Accounting principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or Business Analytics tools is a plus.
- Experience with SAP highly preferred
- Prior experience within a theme park organization preferred
