A Brief Overview

Responsible to provide security for patients employees and visitors; protects hospital buildings assesses and premises as assigned. Also provides traffic control and maintains parking lots and structures.

What you will do

• Patrol hospital buildings and premises to prevent fire theft vandalism and intruders.
• Monitor conduct of visitors on hospital premises. Confront unauthorized persons for questioning as needed.
• Report safety and / or fire hazards or security violations.
• Respond to inquiries for advice or assistance from hospital personnel students and visitors. Provide restraints for psychiatric patients as needed. Escort personnel to parking lots and hospital buildings as requested.
• Participate in investigations; Maintain records and prepare incident reports and other documents pertinent to security activities.
• Secure and / or unlock offices and facilities as required. May secure patient valuables or lost and found articles. Maintains log of items received.
• Control parking and traffic flow. Enforce parking regulations.
• Respond to all emergency codes and security requests (i.e. Staff Assist Security Alert Fire alarms). Respond to CARE Flight operations as needed.
• Mentors security interns in the role of security. Serves as a liaison to local state and federal law enforcement agencies.
