Per Diem Pathologist

Department of Pathology is seeking a per diem board certified or board eligible Anatomy/Clinical Pathologist to join our department. Ideal candidate need to have excellent general surgical pathology diagnostic, communication skills, and the desire to work as a team. The candidate should have the ability to work independently and interact with clinicians, administrators and laboratory staff. This position present an opportunity to work in a collegial environment with exposure to diverse inpatient and outpatient clinical material.

We are a level II trauma center and accredited as a stroke center, providing exceptional care to our community.

Duties include but not limited to general surgical pathology, cytopathology, clinical pathology, tumor board presentations and other teaching responsibilities

• Interpretation/sign-out of surgical pathology specimens
• Cytopathology
• Hematopathology
• Frozen sections
• Specimen grossing if needed
• Conferences/tumor board
• Ordering/interpretation of appropriate immunohistochemical stains and special stains
• Participate in other clinical activities as requested by Laboratory Director
• Hold a New York State Medical License or eligible for New York State licensure.
• AP/CP Board certified or board eligible.
• Any subspecialty training is welcome
