JOB TITLE : Production Supervisor-1st shift
LOCATION : Washington
JOB SUMMARY
The supervisor’s job is to ensure Production Leads understand day-to-day expectations and those that have the resources to accomplish those expectations. This is accomplished through resources planning, coaching, training, respect and support of equipment and human resource optimization. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish business goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / DUTIES
Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities between departments and shifts.Proactively identifies and escalates equipment and personnel needs.Reviews, summarizes and reports on production performance daily.Effectively works towards building a culture of teamwork and commitment to continuous improvement.Facilitates with the interview and hire process, recommends wage adjustments for reporting personnel, ensures adequate training of employees.Reinforces performance through communication, documentation and consequences.Provides performance feedback to Production Leads, including : 5S, efficiency, quality and performance.Documents performance transgressions and escalates to Management and / or Human Resources regarding compliance, safety and legal matters.Evaluates human resources, promotes cross-training and nurtures development opportunities for high-potential employees.Develops, communicates and implements strategies for improving 5S, efficiency, quality, and performance.Collaborate with engineering and production personnel to identify, prioritize, execute and sustain improvement projects.Evaluate and determine workload balance to obtain the most efficient optimization of equipment and human resources.Responsible for meeting production schedules, cost targets and quality standards.Responsible for quality, inventory, 5S / Workplace organization, employee morale, safety and efficiencies.Active role in quality assurance through first-part and in-process buy-offs.Ensures compliance, through awareness presence and training, with State and Federal laws including OSHA / WISHA, anti-discrimination, Wage and Hour Regulations, etc.Participates and initiates corrective action requests to prevent defects and improve quality performance.This job description reflects the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this position. Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and / or work experience.5+ years in a manufacturing environment and 2-3 in a manufacturing leadership role desired.Experience in a metal fabrication and assembly environment is desired, not required.Proven continuous improvement track record, with expertise in Lean, 5S.Ability to work independently with limited supervision.Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, Management, and customers.Effective problem-solving skills.Strong leadership skills required.Thorough understanding of, and experience in, production and manufacturing processes.This role is primarily engaged in administrative and Managerial duties.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
