Accountabilities
Supervisory / Management Responsibility
This position is non-managerial and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or eligible for licensure in South Carolina, or a senior student graduating within the next three months.
Required Certifications / Registrations / Licenses
You must be licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in South Carolina or be eligible for licensure. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. NBRC credentials must be maintained. Certified Respiratory Therapists may be employed if hired before June 2016, while newer hires must pass the Therapist Multiple Choice Exam at the Registered Therapist cut score and complete the Clinical Simulation Exam within six months of graduation. Failure to pass the Clinical Simulation Exam will result in termination.
NRP and PALS certifications are required for work in the Children's Hospital, particularly prior to independent duties in the NICU and PICU.
Other Required Skills and Experience
You should demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a team. Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills are necessary.
