Position Summary
:
This is supervisory work directing the inspection of plumbing facilities and reviewing proposed plumbing and building installations and specifications.
An employee in this class is responsible for supervising a group of plumbing inspectors. The important aspects of the work are reviewing proposed plumbing and building drainage installation plans for compliance with codes and regulations for the protection of the public against the hazards of unsanitary conditions in plumbing systems. An employee in this class performs work under general supervision and his work is reviewed by the Chief Plumbing Inspector through oral and written reports and review of proposed plans and specifications.

Duties:
- Supervises plumbing inspectors.
- Approves plans that meet requirements and gives final approval of entire plans following revisions to meet code and regulation requirements.
- Discusses plans and specifications with plumbers, contractors, architects, engineers, and property owners and other interested parties.
- Travels to and from inspections sites and offices for meetings.
- Explains and interprets codes, regulations and standards.
- Prepares monthly reports as required.
- Maintains the time records for staff under his supervision.
- Supervisors may be responsible assisting with SEO activities and commercial plan review.
- Responds to Public Health emergencies as assigned by the Health Department.
- Performs other duties as required or requested.
