POSITION SUMMARY
The Graphic / Web Designer supports our Memorialization business as part of our Marketing Communications team. This is an entry level role were teh ideal candidate will have either a strong intership or at least a year of corporate or agency experience in Graphic Design. The role is in Pittsburgh and requires 2-in office days per week. This role will produce high-impact print and digital assets supporting B2B marketing programs. Primarily focused on print design, the role involves developing a range of branded materials, including templated brochures, merchandising graphics, ads, and trade show displays designed to engage key audiences. The role reports to the Creative Design Manager and collaborates with other members of the MarComm team to ensure seamless execution from concept to delivery. The MarComm team offers a collaborative design environment with advancement opportunity, and supports stable, growing businesses. Candidates must provide a professional design portfolio as part of the interview process
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the layout, design, and production of print and digital projects, though this role will primarily support print, there will be opportunity to support digital projects.
- Support stylistic and artistic direction of all project and marketing work products, including print collateral, print advertisements, email campaign communications, trade show and other information graphics.
- Creation and refinement of conceptual design options for review and selection by supervisors.
- Selects appropriate images for all projects and digitally retouches them to achieve desired changes and / or look.
- Ensures all projects adhere to corporate brand identity.
- Updates designs for existing items as requested by Marketing Manager.
- Works closely with Marketing Communications team members to understand departmental and organizational priorities and acts accordingly.
- Works with external resources including printers to provide direction for outsourced projects.
- Maintain design skills to remain current with latest design programs and trends.
- Contribute to the department’s learning culture by bringing new ideas and design the best practices for discussion.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Art or related field
4+ years of previous graphic and web design experience; or equivalent combination of education and experienceProficient with MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applicationsProficient with Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign and Photoshop.Proficiency with video editing software a plus.Proficiency with Salesforce.com and Pardot email program a plus.Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning)Solid understanding and application of mathematical conceptsAbility to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clientsAbility to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.Ability to work with and influence peers and senior managementSelf-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reportingPHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
