Grand Rapids, MI Full-Time with Benefits Hybrid About You / What You’ll Need + Position Specifics The PR / Social Media Specialist will lead Highland Group marketing and client PR and social media strategies. Responsibilities will include :

Create and manage media relations, including identifying and planning media opportunities, pitching stories and expert spokespeople, and developing and maintaining media lists and media relationships.

Research, write and pitch press releases and relevant stories.

Track media mentions and other effectiveness measures.

Create engaging social media and thought leadership content aligned with the organization's goals and brand identity across multiple social platforms.

Engage with community through responses, reposts, polls, and more.

Measure success of social campaigns.

Stay up to date on social trends and best practices.

May also be responsible for blog, newsletter, and other long-form content and managing influencer campaigns.

Preferred Qualifications 3-5 years experience with social media and / or PR in a professional setting.

Bachelor's or advanced degree in marketing, communications, PR or relevant field.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Agency experience a plus, but not necessary.

Comfortable using technology to advance the agency needs.

Collaborative, goal-oriented, self-starter.

Passion for working with social and local media.

Desire to be curious, awesome, and essential.
