BASIC PURPOSE :

Assumption University is seeking an individual to design, develop, and maintain data integration, reporting, and analytics solutions that support Assumption University's operational, regulatory, and strategic needs. This role ensures data accuracy, security, and accessibility by managing ETL processes, database systems, and business intelligence tools. Through collaboration with stakeholders, the position translates complex data into actionable insights, enabling informed decision-making across the institution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Data Integration & ETL

  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • Create and optimize data pipelines to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable data movement across systems
  • Monitor and troubleshoot integration workflows, ensuring data integrity and timely delivery
  • Implement error handling and logging mechanisms within SSIS packages
  • Responsible for all new and existing integrations between enterprise applications and systems

Database Management

  • Perform database administration duties including monitoring, maintenance, backup, and recovery operations
  • Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions to support data operations
  • Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, and database design improvements
  • Ensure database security, access controls, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Data Governance & Quality

  • Establish and enforce data governance standards, policies, and best practices
  • Implement data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data
  • Document data lineage, definitions, and metadata to support transparency and compliance
  • Conduct regular data audits and implement remediation strategies for data quality issues
  • Process Optimization & Documentation

  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for automation and improvement
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including system architecture diagrams, process flows, and standard operating procedures
  • Develop and document coding standards and best practices for the data team
  • Implement version control and change management procedures for all integration and reporting assets
  • Business Process Analysis

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational workflows and data requirements
  • Conduct thorough analysis of business processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend technology solutions
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements and actionable data solutions
  • Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions with cross-functional teams
  • API Development & Integration

  • Design and implement API integrations to connect disparate systems and applications
  • Work with RESTful and SOAP web services to enable data exchange between platforms
  • Test and validate API functionality, security, and performance
  • Document API specifications and integration patterns
  • Reporting & Business Intelligence

  • Develop and maintain enterprise reports and dashboards using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Create interactive visualizations and analytical dashboards in Power BI to support business decision-making
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Optimize report performance and ensure scalability across the organization
  • REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :

    Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) with 3+ years of hands-on experience
  • Strong expertise in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) for enterprise reporting
  • Expert-level SQL programming skills including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization
  • Proven experience with Power BI for data visualization and dashboard development
  • Solid understanding of database administration principles and best practices
  • Working knowledge of API development and integration concepts (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML)
  • Professional Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in data integration, business intelligence, or related roles
  • Demonstrated experience implementing data governance frameworks
  • Proven track record of process improvement and optimization initiatives
  • Experience with business process analysis and requirements gathering
  • Core Competencies

  • Excellent documentation skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Project management capabilities with ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Dell Boomi
  • Familiarity with Constituo or Axiom platforms
  • Knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure SQL, AWS RDS, Snowflake)
  • Experience with data modeling and dimensional design
  • Certifications or demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server, Power BI, or related technologies
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies
  • Background in Higher Education
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, HIPAA,FERPA, GLBA)
  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines
