Security K9 Manager
The Security K9 Manager will lead the Disneyland Resort Canine (K9) program, provide specialized and expert knowledge, and train and lead the hourly Cast Members assigned as Canine Handlers, trainers, and Working Leads.
Responsibilities :
- Under the direction of a Senior Manager, you will directly manage all administrative and operational functions associated with the K9 program.
- Ensure the K9 program complies with all applicable regulations and certifications associated with detection, including a yearly certification through the North American Police Working Dog Association (NAPWDA) standards or equivalent certification.
- Support and advocate for the strategies, objectives and mission of the Disneyland Resort and Security & Emergency Services.
Basic Qualifications :
Demonstrated partnering, coaching and mentoring skillsStrong written and communication skills across all levels of an organizationCapable of managing the health and care of multiple working dogs in a licensed commercial kennel, including documentation and record maintenanceMust possess or be capable of obtaining certification as a trainer for Detection Dog HandlingMust be able to obtain a California State BSIS Proprietary Private Security Office LicenseValid California Driver License and free of any moving violation over the past 12 monthsAbility to meet the outlined physical demands and environmental / working conditions of the positionPreferred Qualifications :
Current certification as a Detection Dog Handler through NAPWDA or similar professional association3+ years of demonstrated work history in a leadership position or equivalent job experienceExperience with law enforcement, government agencies, and military organizationsAbility to build strong relationships within the working dog industryCapable of designing, implementing and sustaining a comprehensive training plan that includes on-boarding for new Handlers and maintenance training for current HandlersStrong interpersonal skills and capable of working proactively in a segment environment of diverse stakeholdersAbility to be flexible with work schedule, including all shifts, weekends and holidaysDemonstrated fiscal budget, scheduling and project management skillsRequired Education :

The hiring range for this position in Anaheim is $72,000 to $96,500 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and / or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
