The Facilities Team is seeking a Lead Category Manager to support commodities related to Energy (Gas/Electricity/Solar) Acquisition, Data Center Design / Construction, General Purpose Building Construction, Acquisition and Maintenance of Facility Capital Equipment, Global Physical Security Services, and other Facility Services commodities. This is a global role requiring knowledge and support of projects worldwide with a majority emphasis on North and South America regions. Team member will also complete merger and acquisition related activities related to their service commodity areas. The individual must be self-driven and motivated to successfully manage multiple priorities and excel in the high-paced Oracle culture. Responsibilities will include extensive, high value contract negotiations, supplier management functions, regional and global sourcing initiatives, enforcing policies and procedures, and effecting change management across Oracle. The individual must possess knowledge of service commodities, the ability to review and interpret legal documents, effective negotiation skills and project management experience. Individual must also have technical skills, preferably well-versed in Excel and PowerPoint. Job requires strong critical thinking skills, and highly-cultivated interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with regional teams, cross functional groups, lines of business and suppliers. Individual will coordinate closely with counterparts in other regions (NA, JAPAC & EMEA) relative to global strategy and initiatives. Job functions will include analyzing global spend trends, recommending cost saving opportunities, supporting stakeholders and identifying, proposing and initiating implementation of process efficiencies/improvements.
The preferred candidate will have strong skills in the sourcing of a) Energy which should include an understanding of Supply and Demand Dynamics, Market Trends, Regulatory Knowledge, Load Profiling, Renewable Energy Certificates, and Carbon Offsets b) Data Center Design / Construction which should include the general fit-up of Hyperscale Data Centers with Low Voltage Cabling, Capital Equipment and Service Providers to Maintain and Support the Environment.
Additionally, a self-starter who can work autonomously within a virtual team and in the local office. Work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of technical/business skills in area of specialization.
