The Controller is responsible for recording and reporting financial information in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and corporate policies. This role manages responsibility for all financial and fiscal management aspects of company operations and provides leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, accounting and budgeting efforts of Estes Forwarding Worldwide. / ppTo perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. / pulliCollaborate with executive leadership to refine strategic priorities and align them with the companys mission. / liliIdentify potential risks associated with financial initiatives, develop mitigation strategies, and safeguard against disruptions. / liliWork closely with the CFO, COO, and CEO to align strategic initiatives with financial goals. / liliLead and oversee all financial reporting, and month end / year end close processes in accordance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP). / liliDevelop, implement, and monitor the annual budget, forecasts, and multi-year financial plans, providing analysis and recommendations to support strategic decisions. / liliManage cash flow, liquidity, debt compliance, and optimization of working capital. / liliEstablish, maintain, and improve internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory and tax compliance. / liliDirect preparation of internal and external financial statements, management reports, and board materials, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and clarity. / liliOversee tax planning and compliance (corporate, payroll, indirect taxes), coordinating with external advisors and auditors as needed. / liliLead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning. / liliCoordinate and manage external audits, reviews, and any lender or investor reporting requirements. / liliDrive process improvement and system enhancements (e.g., ERP, reporting tools) to increase efficiency, automation, and data quality. / liliRegular attendance is required. / liliComply with company C-TPAT and TSA security procedures. / liliPerform other duties as assigned. / li / ulh2Qualifications / h2pThe qualifications listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. / ppSkills and abilities / pulliIntermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications. / liliProgressive experience in finance and accounting, including leadership of a finance function (e.g., controller, VP finance, or similar). / liliIn depth knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. / liliDemonstrated experience managing audits, external advisors, and banking or investor relationships. / liliAbility to travel frequently. / liliExcellent written and oral English communication skills. / liliStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage tasks and set priorities. / liliStrong interpersonal skills including diplomacy and patience. / liliAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and work independently with little or no supervision to achieve positive results. / liliAbility to draft comprehensive reports and professional business correspondence. / liliAbility to work with groups of people such as other departments and communicate known concepts concisely. / liliMust be eligible to work in the United States. / liliMust pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and / or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check. / liliAt this time, EFW will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization for this position. / liliEFW offers an opportunity to gain experience and develop your career in an environment that provides a fulfilling workplace for employees, creates an environment for continuous learning, and embraces the ideas and diversity of others.
