This position is responsible for the day-to-day operation of benefit programs. Assists with planning and implementing benefit policies and programs to meet the needs of Premier Health employees and maintain a market competitive benefits program. The Senior Benefits Analyst serves as an active team member of the PHP HR Division, participating in strategic planning, priority setting, resource utilization, process improvement activities and overall project management. This role also provides team leadership in the development of new benefit programs and ongoing program administration; and represents the benefits department on larger company-wide initiatives. Dimensions of project assignments will range from moderate to large.
The Senior Benefits Analyst maintains current knowledge of legal and regulatory developments affecting employee benefit plans. Routinely assesses programs in light of emerging legislative, social and business trends and makes recommendations to better meet the changing needs of the business and its employees. The Senior Benefits Analyst assists benefit team members in their professional development by encouraging ongoing education, cross training across benefits programs, and providing guidance to enable employees to successfully contribute to the achievement of individual, departmental, divisional, and corporate goals.
Essential Duties & Functions:
· The Sr Benefit Analyst takes a leadership role in the development, implementation, and administration of benefit solutions across the system with minimal guidance. Manages projects from identification through implementation, maintaining effective communication between project teams, vendors, employees, and customers.
· Reviews benefits statistical and census data for actuaries, insurance carriers, surveys, RFPs and management. Assists with internal and external auditing and regulatory reporting. May represent the organization to a variety of outside organizations regarding benefit data.
· Ensures timely and accurate data processing of benefit transactions, payroll contributions, vendor interface files and benefit invoices. Conducts periodic audits to ensure data integrity and compliance with plan and regulatory guidelines.
· Fosters positive relationships and teamwork between the benefits department and its customers. Interacts proactively with all levels of management, end-users, and employees to provide solutions with a collaborative approach.
Other Duties & Functions:
Acts as back-up to the Manager, Employee Benefits and Well Being, regarding inquiries about benefit policies and practices
Minimum Level of Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Experience
Minimum Level of Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of job related experience
Prior job title or occupational experience: Exempt professional experience in Employee Benefits, HR, or related field
Prior specific functional responsibilities: N/A
Preferred experience: Employee Benefits in a healthcare environment preferred
Other experience requirements: 3+ years of experience in the development and implementation of benefit programs, including the testing and on-going auditing/issue resolution of interface files. 3+ years experience with monthly benefit invoice validation and financial reporting.
