Position Summary
This role is for an experienced CNC Programmer and Machinist responsible for programming, setting up, and running CNC machines, including vertical machining centers (VMCs), CNC lathes, and horizontal machines. The machinist will create and optimize CNC programs, oversee setups, and lead day-to-day operations in the machine shop. Experience machining castings is required, along with the ability to deliver precision work in a fast-paced environment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines (VMCs, CNC lathes, horizontals) for production and custom jobs
- Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to produce parts to required tolerances
- Perform setups, select tooling, and verify part quality using precision measuring instruments
- Lead the machine shop team, oversee daily operations, and ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
