JOB TITLE : Heart of the House Expeditor

REPORTS TO : Manager

DEPARTMENT : Operations

FLSA STATUS : Non-exempt

OVERVIEW : The Heart of the House (HOH) Expeditor is responsible for communication with HOH team members and checking orders for accuracy before they leave the kitchen that contributes to the smooth, efficient operation of the restaurant by performing the duties of the position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Helps expedite all food from the HOH window in a presentable manner.
• Abides by the N.O.W. (No Order Waits) policy to ensure all hot food is delivered hot and cold food is delivered cold.
• Uses proper procedures with checking food so it matches what was rung in before order leaves the kitchen.
• Helps in coordination with the Food Runners to pack and check all take-out orders for accuracy before orders leave the kitchen.
• Coordinates with the Mangers and Food Runners to keep the outside expo station stocked with all items necessary to perform job duties such as paper supplies, trays and clean utensils.
• Practices safe handling of all product and creates an environment free of cross contamination.
• Follows the FIFO (First in First Out) and LDIR (Label, Date, Initial, Rotate) systems.
• Communicates with teammates in a professional manner regarding guest orders.
• Stocks all essential food and other related items in preparation of shift for the operational flow of the restaurant. All leftover / unused food products are stored / restocked or disposed of properly.
• Follows portion and quality control standards of the menu when expediting food.
• Brings concerns of any food that is unsafe / unpresentable to the Manager and HOH staff and accordingly has food remade for the guests. Understands that food does not leave the HOH until it is made to Company standard.
• Maintains work areas in a sanitized and orderly manner in compliance with state health and safety regulations.
• Constantly communicates to inside expo with concerns from Servers, Bartenders, Cashiers and Managers when there is a need.
• Attends restaurant meetings and training sessions as requested.
• Trains new Expediters on approved company procedures.
• Completes all assigned opening / closing and running sidework.
• Communicates any health and / or safety concerns / violations immediately to management.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
